If you suddenly feeling chills all over your body, it’s probably because it’s snowing all over the Western Cape. For the first time in many years, Table Nountain was partially covered in blankets of snow. Temperatures plummeted as low as 2 degrees celcius.
Table Mountain is open for visitors from the 1st September.
We are very excited with the snow that started falling on Saturday, the first time in many years that this has happened,” said Wahida Parker, Managing Director of Table Mountain Aerial Cableway Company.
It often snows on the mountain during our rather cold winter months but it’s never that cold that the snow falls and stays compact on the ground. While there are light snowfalls, we haven’t seen a phenomenon like this of snow on the roof and on the walkway,”she added.
